-- Perhaps all Hannah Arendt was trying to do was to provide an effective bypass to meaningless details, but at the same time she solidified the songwriting process. In essence, shaping up an environment for a song to exist in, is more effective than actual notes and words.
It is upon that principle that Iam Nothe, the artistic persona of Spyreas Sid has risen from the ashes of Cyanna Mercury to offer an urban take on contemporary soulful blues. With a long line of years behind him, taking leaps around Greek underground music, this solo effort encapsulates a variety of musical and philosophical influences, all distilled into an album of depicted honesty and down-tuned swagger.
"Lord You Are The Cure" is the first glimpse of that made-up world, telling a story of self exploration through co-existential dread. Disguised under the veil of a blues/rock track, this testament of awareness takes up a variety of flair from the operational experimentation of Paul Weller, Eddie Hazel and Ian Astbury through a reflective prism. With a backup from an earthly vintage production, suited to bring out the subtle yet meaningful band performance, it paves a way for the vocal lines to drive the whole track into a solid and consistent piece of songwriting.
